Discovering Bruxelles
Hello my fellow adventure seekers!!!!
Did you get it right ??? Yes!!! we traverse to Bruxelles next.
Je t'aime Bruxelles
Breakfast to start off my day on my short hop and a skip across the pond to where? Brussels.
I added a stopover in Brussels on my original route in destination. Luckily for us it turn into a long stopover which gives us two days to explore. My initial plan was to take the train to Bruges on the first day and then explore Brussels on the day two before continuing on my journey. Day one in Brussels the weather wasn't conducive to our travel plan. It was very windy and a bit rainy, so we were advised that it wasn't a good day for visit in Bruges. So we improvised, cancelled that idea and instead took the train to back Centraal Brussels. Great decision. As soon as I arrived in the city I was mesmerized by it all.
Ahhh Brussels, what can I say? The moment I step foot on ground here, all the charm this city has to offer comes to light. Why should Brussels be on your bucket list - how about starting with the brilliant architecture, the engraining in that culture, while having adaptation of modern times which makes a perfect mixture of having your cake and eating too, in my book. Venture further in and there is more to remind you why you wanted to visit Brussels, the little shops for trinkets and souvenirs, restaurants and cafes where you can grab a bite to eat or nibble, you could just leave me here for long periods of time, it has all that I need for now to enjoy bliss.
The ambiance, the beauty, the people, the scenery.. all speak for themselves.
It was just breath taking and awe inspiring. Pictures doesn't do it justice, you need to see it in person.
We were taking a selfie in front of the Brussel Centraal Train Station and this guy decided to pose with us. He said it's "the best picture ever" .... What do you think?? do you agree with him? Was he right?
Best way to enjoy a relaxing day is to explore by walking down the street with of course your comfy shoes, its just amazing looking at the scenery. I can't say it enough, I found the architecture impressive. What can I say, except look at some of these pictures.
While some might say, pictures tell a thousand words, some things you just need to be there in person to experience.
Brussels is Belgium’s Capital, and with our Hotel just 10 minutes walk from the train station, for an easy and convenient ride into the city, makes it a quick and easy pass time. If you missed a train, the next one is only a couple minutes behind. Taking the train is easy once you figure out your route, but should you get stuck, not to worry, there are no shortage of people you can ask who are always ready and willing to come to your aide. Love that about this city.
Because it's their most common mode of travel they made it super easy and convenient... there are machines as you enter the train station, just purchase your ticket, check your train time and platform to leave from and you're good to go. If you missed a train, the next one is not too distant behind. It's well oil run machine.
After doing some exploring and looking at the sights, I decided to try some local resto to chow down some delish food. Tasting local cuisine and shopping, my two favorites past time.. Who wouldn't love that.
Believe or not this is a shopping centre, and even though I can't capture it properly on pictures, it's was a sea of people... I thought to myself, if there was ever a good time to have a drone or a really long selfie stick, this would be it, to capture moments like these, while committing them to memory. You walk through this archway and continued walking for what seems like about a 1/2 mile of so of shopping. It was long but there were lots of people and stores to go through. I was just mesmerized by it all.
Doesn't this picture makes you feel like home?? lots of places to eat, many shops to explore.
There are many places to visit in Brussels and get cultured or just stay modern, the beauty is, this one city offers you both at the same time. Hopefully, you will if you get a chance to.. Who knows, you might even visit this little guy and what the smirk on his face while he pees. LOL
Bruxelles....one last look before we say goodbye.
Until next time my fellow adventure seekers, enjoy discovering your own delights!
